The Fit Guy - 136cm (0cm loss)

Howdy.

I'm a guy who lost his way. For the past year and a half, I've been trying to find it again.

But I'm not there yet.

I drank too much. I was really fat. I didn't exercise as much as I should. I had high blood pressure. I worked in a high stress job. I was at risk of lifestyle related health problems, if I didn't already have them.

I may still have them.

Anyway, a year and a half ago I decided to do something about it. I had a huge piss up at my brothers house. The next day, I decided to give up alcohol for a year.

You can read all about it here: http://www.yearoffthegrog.blogspot.com/

That blog ends with me going off to see a personal trainer. I did keep that up for months.

But they were fucking me, and so I gave it up, and got the flu for 2 weeks.

At the moment I'm putting on weight. I can feel, and see it. My diet is poor, although I am still off the piss.

So many of the problems I had 1.5 years ago, I still have, just in a reduced form.

But rather than focussing on alcohol, which I did for 12 months, I want to focus on what the fit guy would do. I see this as a positive focus, rather than a negative.

To this end, I am focussing on waist size, rather than weight. I know I want to lose weight, but why get depressed about the numbers. If my gut is shrinking, all is good with the world.

My first goal is to lose 20cm. I would like to do that in 6 months, which would bring me to my 2 year anniversary of being off the piss. If I lose 20cm, I would be looking good.

My longer term goal is to get down to 100cm.

So, with no more of a guide than "What would the fit guy do?", I will begin.

Today I think the fit guy will be walking around the river, and not eating biscuits out of the work tin.
